Welcome to 2019!

I’ve neglected this website and blog for most of 2018. That’s because I’ve spent so much time building 4 other websites and businesses.

Moving forward, I will be adding all of my blog posts from my other websites/businesses here on the MJA Blog. I’m going add all of my past posts and I will make sure that all of my future posts get added here as well.

Below is my post from my Praxis blog over at Impact Capitalist.

What Have I Been Doing?

It’s interesting how many people are introspective at the end of each year. It’s also interesting how so many people develop corresponding “resolutions” because of that introspection.

According to the Washington Post, 40% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions. That, to me, is a positive. (There is ample evidence that shows that less than 3% of Americans actually write down their goals.) However, according to an old Forbes article, “Just 8% of People Achieve Their New Year’s Resolution.”

While this is not necessarily a resolution blog post, it is one that looks both backward and forward.

Impact Capitalist, along with this blog, Praxis, was started in late 2015. Impact Capitalist was developed because of our (Tom and my) strong belief in the virtues of free market capitalism and its incredible potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people. The concept was actually developed after Tom’s year of living and working in Denmark and my year of living and working in Haiti.  To gain a better understanding of why I started Impact Capitalist, I wrote the blog post “Why Did I Start Impact Capitalist?” at the end of May 2017.

But this blog post is about why the Impact Capitalist platform remains both “unfinished” and yet how I’ve worked on the platform every day since late 2015.

While guided by the values and principles of the Impact Capitalist platform, values, and ideology, I’ve been pretty focused on the regenerative medicine space since late 2013.

I spent most of 2016 planning for, and starting, a regenerative medicine clinic in Chicago.

While running the clinic, I spent much of 2017 traveling around the United States developing, defining (and redefining) a new kind of treatment platform that would benefit both physicians and patients.

I spent most of 2018 developing the necessary information and content for four (yes, 4!) different platforms. This includes the development of 4 different websites, 4 different blogs, 5 different eBooks (3 of which are published, the other two will be released in the first half of 2019), webinars, workshops, courses, podcasts, an institute, and all of the content development that goes with this.

Also in 2018, I developed the business system and advisory platform for two different businesses. This includes the websites and content, but also includes business operations, business systems and processes, as well as marketing, communications, and recruiting platforms.

In 2019, I will begin to see the culmination of the last 25 years of my life and work. These four  platforms are all different, but related. (I have 3 or 4 more projects that I will be adding in 2019). Every one of the projects and businesses that I am working on has, as its foundation, the Impact Capitalist platform, values, and ideology.

With each and every project I am working on, I am working to make an impact through capitalism, business ownership, entrepreneurship, economics, and some other things.

Here’s to making a great impact in 2019!
